GlobalTarget Graduation & (Another) Award

18th annual GlobalTarget Graduation

Cleveland State University’s Global Business Center hosted its annual GlobalTarget program graduation. Attendees honored the work of the graduating companies representing the region’s rising small-to-medium businesses who are learning how to enter foreign markets.

 The graduation was held June 8th from 5 - 8 P.M. at CSU’s Parker Hannifin Hall. In attendance were six out of eight GlobalTarget mentors, four graduating companies, past participants, prospective companies, members of the Ohio District Export Council, and other participants of the program.

The GlobalTarget™ program, an export accelerator and mentorship program, was created in 2005 by the Monte Ahuja College of Business Global Business Center at Cleveland State University, the SBDC Export Assistance Network, the U.S. Commercial Service and other regional and international organizations.

There are two ways to participate in the GlobalTarget program through: 1) Company Membership in a seven-month cohort or 2) Individual Mentorship which can be renewed annually.

 

Member companies include: Jergens Inc., DRR USA, IngMar Medical, and Clampco Products. Mentors who are still actively working are: Olivier Braquet (nVent), Verena Kristof and Tim Morgan (Lubrizol), Tim Jablonski (Codonics Inc.), Ron Swinko (EcoThrive), Michel Nouafo (J. Galt). Our other mentors who retired after long stints working internationally include Richard (Dick) Seif (Lincoln Electric), Nick Lubar (Swagelok). 

GlobalTarget Program wins (another) award!

Last month The Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. International Trade Administration presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Global Business Center at Cleveland State University for its work in developing and offering the GlobalTarget program. She mentioned that there have been eight companies who have gone through GlobalTarget that have gone on to win the national President’s E-Award, the highest distinction for U.S. companies in this category.

In addition to this award, during March 2023 the GlobalTarget program accepted the prestigious Program Excellence Award during a conference at Graduate Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland.
