On August 13th, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel recognized 58 students from Ohio universities around the state who spent their summer driving international growth for Ohio businesses through the Ohio Export Internship Program.
The students were matched with companies based on their skills & interests and gained hands-on experience in global trade while helping their host businesses strengthen export readiness and reach new markets.
"This program shows the power of connecting talent with opportunity,” said Lt. Governor Jim Tressel. “Our students gain the skills to excel, and our businesses gain the expertise to expand internationally—it’s a win-win for Ohio.”
For more than a decade, OEIP has paired 524 students with Ohio companies, resulting in 174 internship extensions, 95 full-time job offers, and entry into 450 new international markets.

We are actively recruiting students for the 2026 cohort NOW. If you are interested in the program:
Each student is accepted through a rigorous interview process, completes a semester-long international business course to prepare them for on-the-job challenges, and ultimately spends a summer interning at an Ohio small business putting their education into practice.
