Awarded Export Honor

The SBA Cleveland District Office awarded Cleveland-based EvenMix® its 2025 Exporter of the Year for Northern Ohio during National Small Business Week on May 9th.

Since 2012 when president & owner Phil Rankin established EvenMix, the company has used aerospace engineering techniques to design pump technology into its variable pitch blades, bringing true mixing technology to in-drum liquids. Phil used his global mindset resulting in his first export sales to Canada, New Zealand, and Australia in 2017.

EvenMix now exports its vast inventory of mixing blades to 23 countries across the globe. In recognition of the company’s growth, EvenMix has also been recognized as the #1 fastest growing company in northeast Ohio in 2022 and the #2 fastest growing company in 2023 by the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management.

To help expand its overseas markets, Phil utilizes the services offered by the Ohio SBDC EAN. Our own David Delgado, International Trade Advisor, has been instrumental in advising Phil and directing him to the appropriate tools and resources related to overseas markets, sales, and distribution.

OEIP Students Ship Off!

It's been a busy month for our OEIP interns. In April the students got to see the work being done at the Port of Cleveland to get a first hand glimpse of logistics in action. Many thanks to Jared Magyar and the staff at the port for their hospitality!

The class ended, and our students began their internships over the past few weeks in May.

On May 22nd the GBC hosted our annual "Meet & Greet" event where we invite the 19 students in our NEO region to an orientation. The interns are serving 12-week internships with our client companies throughout the region.

Business Accelerator
Sends Ohio Companies
to Latin America

Our GlobalTarget export accelerator Program concluded in May following the April Trade Winds trade mission to South America. Our companies were granted the opportunity to participate in this dynamic business building program - the largest trade mission organized by the U.S. International Trade Administration. Our companies were offered a chance to visit with prospective companies, commercial representatives and dignitaries in Brazil, Chile, Colombia among others.

GlobalTarget's Trade Winds element was part of celebrating the 20th anniversary of this special accelerator and mentorship program. Our GBC programmatic year will conclude on June 26 where we will recognize the many people who have made GlobalTarget the model program it's become.
